Vehicle Data Plate

The color and interior codes, along with the car’s serial number, can be found on the vehicle’s data plate, located under the hood above the passenger side headlamp. Note that the Bertone serial number is also the last six digits of the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).

Date of Manufacture

The vehicle’s date of manufacture and gross weight information can be found on a sticker (shown sideways, below) placed on the driver’s door shell.

The cars of model year 1989 for the Swedish market have, until 31 dec 1988, exceptionally the letter J instead of the K. For the cars for the French market, from model year 1989 on the model year letter has been changed into the digit 0 and the model year thus needs to be established based on the serial number (’89 or ’90 possible).

The automatic gearbox AW71 is always delivered in combination with engines B230FT, B280E and B280F. The manual gearbox M46 is always delivered in combination with engines B200ET, D24TIC and B204GT.
