If you have any seat control units, an intact windshield washer bottle and level sender, and oil cooler brackets, I’d be interested in buying those off you. Possibly some other parts depending on what I remember needing for my old Italian princess. She’s a needy one.
What seat controls do you need, the part that has the switches or the control unit box under the seats? I have both. I do also have the washer bottle, will send photos shortly.
Truthfully, I’ll take it all. I’d prefer to have some spares on hand if I need them, as I’m tearing the seats down and rebuilding them from the frame this summer. I could also use any other interior parts you may be able to take out of the car, but I’ll get that list together this week. Thanks a million!
Sure, I can put aside the button portion along with the computer boxes – but how many? I have at least 2 sets of boxes and switches, possibly even 3 sets! I also have just as many sets of seat motors if you’d be interested in those as well.
The interior parts, I’ve already destroyed the back seats (back and bottom), the rear interior trim that goes up the back pillar of the car and the interior trim that goes up along the roof that holds the headliner up, I believe it also runs down the front pillar by the windshield. No one seemed to want these pieces so they’ve been destroyed/disposed of. I will hold off on throwing away more for the time being. Radio trim is being sold, radio trim bracket will be listed on eBay soon. I’m also going to be pulling the fuel door, lock sets and some more parts like instrument cluster. I’ll probably pull the motors that open the trunk and door locks since these have sold in the past, along with all car computers even though they’ve not sold but they’re easy to store. The truck carpet will be taken since it is pretty good condition but other than that if there are no requests in the next few weeks, the rest of the car will sadly meet the grave yard. 🙁
Keep in mind, if you need sheet metal to fix your dented or rotten car, I can cut any section at all that you may need to repair any damages. The car is pretty rust free Florida car.
Well, I’m sorry to see another 780 go to that great scrapyard in the sky, but at least it’ll keep one more going for (hopefully) a few decades yet. I’ll send you a PM with what I’d like to keep from cluttering up the thread.
Last call for parts – in less than two weeks, the car will be headed out to its unfortunate demise.
Hej Dan, do you still have the mirrors L+R and the rubber filler blocks to go with them? And are the indicator lights still available?
Hi Johan,
I certainly do have both exterior mirrors available, both have already been removed. I am not sure what rubber blocks you are describing, do you have a photo or diagram?
Indicator lamps along with head lamps have both sold to a gentleman in Japan.
Great. These are on the top bolt that holds the mirror, inside the doorpanel. It is an anti-draft filler block, triangular in shape.Nr 15 in the picture
Are the door rubbers any good? Perhaps you can add those also. Will nice shore up and protect the mirrors
The mirrors just came off the car with 3 bolts so I am sure those are there but I will check them over and take photos once I arrive home from work.
The door seals installed are not in the best of shape with some wear at the bottom near the sill, it looks like some rub damage from entering/exiting the vehicle however the seals also did not leak. You’d probably want to use them if you had no seals at all but not want them to replace seals that might be in better shape. I do have more seals for this car hanging in my garage, I just don’t know if they’re truck or door seals, or the condition. I will check them also once I get home and send photos so you can decide.
Sorry for the delay, but here are the photos of the mirrors. #15 is not included on either side mirror under the rubber seal or on the door side. It was also not included on the last parts car’s mirrors I sold also so maybe it was added on later cars or euro cars? Either way, a photo of the mirror is below. The door rubber is intact but not in the best of shape. I will show you the one set I have below. The other set – passenger side rubber is dried out and cracking, driver side is much better but still has damage like the ones below.
Thank you Dan! The metal part under the radiator arrived today!
I can recommend Dan to everyone! He sandblasted and painted the part and even included new clips!
Regards
-Mika
Thank you for the kind words Mika, I am happy that part is useful and makes another 780 more complete.
Right now I still have the 780 but am actively seeking a scrap business to come purchase it and remove the vehicle. Bumpers are going back on it to be scrapped. I will keep some of the interior trim (door sills, misc small seat plastic – stuff like that) as well as some exterior trim (Rocker panels, all glass, all stainless rub strips as well as stainless window trim). I will keep these briefly trying to sell them and then they too will be scrapped if they don’t go.
Photos below are for JW, finally parts are ready. Some of the seat motor controls or motors may be from a newer model 780 (90 instead of 87). There are a bunch of seat motors under all of that pile of wiring, I believe enough for two pairs of seats, maybe more – these are the motors directly under the seat. There is, however, only one or two seat back motors since these are extremely difficult to get to I didn’t remove them from the current seats. Seat computers are also in the pile under everything.
Hi dn010 ,
is it too late to ask you for the plastic air guide. #1 from the picture
