Does anyone have a sunroof or the sliding roof weatherstrip for sale?DaviesKeymaster2019-06-21 at 09:23Post count: 183
This is a huge ask of pretty much everyone on the board; any leads would be MUCH appreciated by all 😉

I have dreams of getting my hands on a sunroof frame, so I can turn it into a CAD file for reproductions. There’s a local shop that has a CNC machine for use by members, at reasonable rates if you provide the stock material.
What say you guys, should I whip the sunroof out of my 780 and make an attempt?DaviesKeymaster2019-08-18 at 20:25Post count: 183
What do you mean by sunroof frame? The rubber seals are the tough parts to get hold of, do the sunroof frames go bad or?JWMember2019-08-24 at 19:40Post count: 7
Yeah, the metal frame that the glass and rubber are glued to, that the motor cables connect to in order to move the sunroof. In more humid climates the metal rusts out over time, especially considering they were never galvanized like most of the rest of the body. Mine desperately needs replacement, and finding one has been such a pain I’m seriously considering going the DIY route rather than trying to source a replacement.LAJParticipant2019-10-01 at 11:00Post count: 1

I have a sunroof that I can send you with the objective of restoring it for the community because I have two 780s they are in a state of disrepair. It is rusted but it must be completely dismantled piece by piece and reconstituted and treated with epoxy. Are you thinking of redoing all the pieces and everyone must know as of what the final price will be, or do you live? and do you really think you can redo a roof from the one i send you? Thank you
