My seats are pretty shot (leather dried, cracked and torn up). Has anyone brought theirs to an upholstery shop to be reconditioned? What were your experiences?

    Thanks!

My mechanic knows a reconditioned seat expert in Los Angeles. He showed me a car with seats reconditioned. The new seats looked very different, back seats were original….

Can you use the leather from the trunk pass-through or back armrest as patches to fix your seat? My seats are torn only at sewing joints so I am considering this option.

LEATHERIQUE. They have been around for many years. Offer conditioner that can restore dry leather but will take patience and some hands on work. I met the Canadian supplier and he showed me some real seats he has reconditioned. I just started to use on mine and is showing improvement. They also can supply dye matched to mfg standard or a sample from your seat.

Getting mine done this week at a place near me in Las Vegas.  They do all kinds of high-end cars and then there’s my work in progress!  Will post the before and after pics!

Wow! Looks amazing. I like how they even have the little folds like the originals. Looks super comfy. What did you pay?

I went to a shop locally that does exotics like Ferrari’s, Bentley’s and Lambo’s, so it wasn’t cheap by any measure (would rather not say how much it cost tbh because it was a good percentage of what I paid for the car in the first place).

They mentioned that it was actually one of the more difficult seats they’ve had to do (glad I didn’t have the multicolour seats).  It took two hides of really good quality leather and I saved some money because they reused the leather from the seat backs (where the pocket is etc) as it was very clean.  They also re-dyed my headrests to match. Finally, I’d bought new seat heating elements that they installed for me too.
