Part search – bracket under the radiator

Hi!

I´m not sure if this is a common problem or not.

The bracket under the radiator is very rusty in my 780. It is the bracket that is attached to the radiator and to the plastic air guide. I can´t find it anywhere in new condition and I haven´t been able to find it used either. I have the V-6 engine.

I think that I have to try to restore the old one.

The part I´m talking about is the part #13 in the picture.

Here´s a picture from my car. It is the rusty part under the radiator. (the oil pan is going to be replaced with the new one. The radiator support bracket is also going to be replaced or restored) :

I’m sure it is common as there were certain metal pieces that didn’t have enough under spray and protection on them, especially in more wet and salty environments. Volvo worked hard to make sure Bertone had the highest level of rustproofing in the manufacturing, but they missed this part! I’m sure someone will have one on a parts car.

Looking at Vida it is part 1396133 and is specific for the V6 and D24 780’s. Not available anymore from gcp.se

Is it really rusted through or is it just surface rust. Perhaps a good clean with a wire brush and then rustproof and paint will do the job?

Well it looks pretty bad but maybe i will take it off someday and try to restore it…

Yes I know the part number and it seems to be sold out from everywhere.
