I´m restoring the door panels and right now I´m installing the new sealing strips. I mean the strips that are grey or beige and go around the panels. Here is the picture that shows the strip. It is the number 18 in the picture . The problem is that it seems that you have to use some kind of glue to keep them in place. I don´t know whta kind of glue to use. It should be something that won´t dry – stays sticky but is not too messy either.
I’m familiar with that problem. I would think a clear silicon or even a weather strip adhesive (3M makes a good one) would be fine. Since you are just using it to hold it on, I would think a think layer is more than sufficient.
