Adding Gauges

Has anyone ever added any additional gauges to their 780? The 780 dash does not lend itself well to adding any additional guages but I am wondering if anyone has done this. On the V6 2.8l engine there are several blanking plugs that could be removed to insert probes or sensors associated with the gauges so that part does seem to provide possibilities for adding gauges. Apparently there is a blanking plug toward the front of the motor just beside the oil filter, and another one roughly in the same position on the other side of the motor. Either one could probably be used to add an oil pressure guage. There is another plug that could be used near the water pump.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

    Carl,

Thanks for jumping on the forums. The audience is small at the moment, but we will hopefully get more folks who can offer technical thoughts. I am not as familiar with the V6 but on the B230FT turbo there is a plug near the front of the motor, under the side of the water pump, that is for oil pressure. I’m sure also long as the prop is fully seated into the block with exposure to the oil you would be fine. Where would you add the gauge if the dash would’t lend itself to another indicator?

    Hi,

Here are the gauges we can add:

1 – Digital ambient temperature gauge
    2 – Voltmeter
    3 – Oil pressure gauge
    4 – Oil temperature gauge
